George Winston

Steph and I had a fun time on Thursday night eating at Boise's new Spanish restaurant, Tapas Estrella and then catching the George Winston concert in the Egyptian Theatre. This is my fourth Winston concert and I was pleasantly surprised to see that about 40% of his set list is new; the previous three shows were carbon copies right down to the jokes.

New Bikes

On Friday we bought a couple of Diamondback Response Sport mountain bikes from Reed Cycle in Eagle. Steph's is green and mine is charcoal.

Today we took them for a 15 mile spin on the Greenbelt. We rode from Veterans Memorial Park east to Harris Ranch. They're great!

More Labor Day Pictures

On Sunday the Baston Creek Fire flared up again on the ridge south of Archie's.

Here's a Forest Service chopper dipping out of Red River in Archie's Meadow.

Here's the famous rock along the road that looks like Richard Nixon. Posted by Picasa

Labor Day Weekend at Red River

Last weekend Steph and I met Mom & Dad at our family's cabins at Red River (about 70 miles east of Grangeville, Idaho).

Mom and Dad brought in their horses and we went on some fun rides--one up Soda Creek and another up Blackhawk Mountain Road. At night we made popcorn in the wood stove. We played Scrabble at night and the girls beat the boys 224-223.

Steph and I stayed in the big cabin in the center of the picture and Mom and Dad stayed in the little cabin on the far left of the picture.

Yard Work

Last week we laid 500 square feet of sod in the north east corner of the back yard and added some cedar bark in the front of the house. Here's what those spots look like now.
